The Water Security Agency (WSA) has increased outflows from the Anglin Lake reservoir in response to above average precipitation over the last 8-10 days. The current water level at Anglin Lake is 515.58m and rising; the full supply limit (F.S.L) for the reservoir is 515.42m. This means the reservoir is about 16 cm or 6 inches above F.S.L.
The operation to increase outflows was conducted by WSA staff on July 13, 2020. Outflows at the Anglin Lake dam were changed from approximately 7.4 cubic meters per second (cms) to approximately 12.8cms. A release of 12.8cms will closely mimic the inflows into the reservoir.
Increased water levels/flows will be observed along the Spruce/Little Red River over the coming days. The water level at Highway #2 will visibly increase in the next 3-4 days while water levels in Little Red River Park will increase in the next 5-7 days. Due to the increased release out of bank flow and flooding is possible.
WSA will continue to monitor the situation closely and will make adjustments to outflows as required.
